Moving home does not necessarily entail taking everything
Moving home can be envisaged as an opportunity but is also considered a very tedious process. Times like this can also act as an initiative for us to get rid of those items that have been used very infrequently, but are of sentimental value and are continually being moved from one place to another around the house because you cannot bring yourself to get rid of them. Rather than thinking about the cost of packing them, moving them, and unpacking them, it is more important to decide if you actually have room in your new home for these items. The following tips will help you organize yourself better.
Empty and clean your wardrobes, book shelves and all the rooms so that you can pick out what you no longer need.
Try to sell them. Start by advertising in local magazines for second-hand goods, although it is also a good idea to place advertisements on the street or at nearby supermarkets.
Another option is to advertise in universities, as foreign students are always on the lookout for domestic appliances and other useful items.

If you had to get rid of several articles, consider donating them to a charity
Assess the characteristics of your new home. This will help you see whether certain appliances, such as the refrigerator, stove, washing machine and spin-drier fit into the spaces available for them, if this is not the case, you can them sell them beforehand, and purchase new ones.
Make an inventory of everything you are taking on the move.
Notify the electricity, telephone and water companies of your change of address or the termination of your contract.
If your house is insured, contact the insurance company so that they can take the necessary steps to insure your new home.
Make sure you put away all the receipts related to payment of services, taxes, etc. to avoid any later complaints.
Ask your doctor to recommend some specialists that work in your new area, and obtain a copy of your medical records and those pertaining to the rest of the family.

Additional Tasks
There are many additional tasks involved in relocating personal items while moving home . Underneath is a list containing several items that should not be overlooked:

Checking Account
Ask your bank for information on how to change branch so you can pick up your check-books. You’ll be surprised at how useful this is, once you don’t have to cross town every time you need new checks.

Publications and Correspondence
Don’t forget to notify your change of address to any publications you receive and also inform the Post Office so that you can still receive your mail while making the transition.

Cancel
Make sure that all clubs, gyms or video-rental stores know that you will not be back, or, if possible, change to a branch closer to home..

Formalities for Schools
If you have children, carry out all the necessary formalities beforehand to ensure they are registered in the new school.
